On the surface, Owen is cool and unflappable. He carries himself with a silent confidence and poise that exudes excellence. This is because Owen is excellent. The things he has set himself out to do, he has done with skill and precision. He is not conceited, does not boast or brag, he simply is exceptional.
With others, he is quite polite and civil, having a formality in his tone and manner that shows a well bred upbringing and top notch education. Paired with this, he is also brief, wishing not to waste anyone's time, including his own. This disposition filters into his work easily, making him an exemplary agent. He follows orders and completes his tasks to the letter, leaving nothing unfinished.
With his family, his father in particular, Owen is humble and passive. He defers to his father on all matters, keeping his opinions to himself. Even when he disagrees with his father, Owen merely bows his head and suffers in silence. With his sister, Owen is truly happy. He dotes on her and always has some kind of small gift for her when he gets to visit.
Privately, Owen is a teeming mire of rage and despair. Years of suppressed anger explode from him when he trains and if he's left too himself with too much alcohol, he might be found the next morning passed out with a bottle shattered to pieces all around him.
But Owen is a master of self control and those who work with him know nothing of his shameful faults. People don't get below the surface. Ever. PARENTS: - Seok Lee (Father, 52), Jung Lee (mother, deceased), Yin (stepmother, 48)

HISTORY:
Seok and Jung Lee immigrated from South Korea while their son was still in his mother's womb. They were so proud and grateful of becoming American citizens that they vowed to always remember the man who helped them in this dream. When their son was born, he was named Owen, after Collin Owens who had helped the Lees become full citizens.
Seok was an electronic engineer and entrepreneur. They had inherited a small fortune from their families back home, and Seok put it to use starting up his own software company. They specialized in cyber security and became popular with many major corporations seeking to protect their interests.
Owen would grow up in the lap of luxury. But even still, he was never a lazy child. His parents insisted that he explore many interests. So, while maintaining excellent grades in private prep schools, Owen lived a balanced life of martial arts, cello lessons, and languages. While at times he became frustrated with the rigorous schedule he was subjected to, Owen was a very driven child and rarely complained.
One night, however, Owen's world was plunged into nightmare. He remembers very little of the actual incident. He had been sleeping, when suddenly, a crashing sound startled him awake. Wandering from his room and rubbing the sleep from his eyes, Owen stopped dead in his tracks when he found his mother held in the arms of a strange man. She was struggling against him, but was not crying out. Her eyes, wild with pain and fear locked with his and silently pleaded for him to run. But the assailant saw her look and turned to see the boy. That was when Jung finally screamed for Owen to run.
And he did. Consumed by fear, Owen ran and did not stop until he reached the gate to their drive where the security man on guard caught him. By the time the security guard got to the house, it was too late. Owen remembers only the lights of police cars and a blur of hands and soft voices trying to console him after that. His father, who had been away on business, returned the next morning. Father and son were stern and silent through Jung's funeral. After her death, there were two years of painful silence in the Lee household. The killer was never found, believed to be some drifter. Owen continued his many lessons, but there was a hollowness in the boy that would silently eat at him in the coming years.
Seok soon met Yin, the daughter of a Chinese business associate and the two were quickly married. Owen cared little for the woman, but did not speak out against her or his father. The only thing that warmed him to this change in the family was the birth of his sister, Mei Lyn, not long after his 10th birthday. Mei Lyn had Owen's heart from the first and he played the role of older brother to perfection.
As the years passed, Owen proved every bit the perfectionist that his father hoped he would be. He graduated top of his class in high school, was an excellent cellist, and had all but mastered Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, and Karate. He could speak Korean, Mandarin, and even French. Most of all, he had shown great aptitude for business. Seok would be proud to pass his business empire down to his son when the time came.
He entered Harvard, intent on seeking a degree in business, but his plans changed entirely when a face from the past, one he was sure he'd forgotten, turned his life upside down. With all the chaos that happened in New York, people were revealing themselves as so-called Titans. For Owen, it was a marvel, but in the end a distraction from the demands on his time. That is, until he showed up in Boston.
Owen ran into him entirely by chance, but he cannot forget the encounter. He was walking into a store just as the man was running out. The man had been robbing the place, but just as he made his escape, he bumped into Owen. To right himself, the man grabbed Owen's arm. In that instant, Owen was seized by pain. In a panic, the man froze and the two locked eyes. That was when Owen recognized him and in a flash, all his rage and despair exploded out of him. Owen swung, never mind how his arm burned from contact with the man. Now was his chance for revenge.
But the police showed up and intervened, pulling Owen away, saying the man was dangerous. Owen was screaming incoherently as he struggled against the officers. Later that evening, in a Boston police station, Owen told the officers that the man was the same who'd killed his mother all those years ago. The police told Owen the man was a Titan, able to excrete a powerful acid. Owen would carry the scars of that encounter, both physically and emotionally.
His focus would shift after that, from business to revenge. Now that he knew the man was out there, he could not pretend to be beyond grieving. Owen changed his focus to psychology, specifically on criminal and abnormal psychology. His efforts were intended to lead him toward an avenue to seek justice against the man who killed his mother. Instead, it brought him to the D.T.R.C.
He'd been noticed and selected as an agent candidate. His recruitment was brief, as Owen was eager to accept any opportunity that might bring him closer to his goal. The D.T.R.C. knew about his plans, of course, but he wasn't exactly discouraged from them. He was simply reminded that his orders would have to come first. Owen agreed to this and continued his studies at Harvard while also beginning training to become an agent. Four years later, he had his degree and his badge.
He began as a junior agent and an analyst, working mostly from a desk and gathering intelligence for the more senior agents to act on. He worked through his field training, passing physical exams and aptitude tests with flying colors. He expanded his combat skills to the use of firearms, preferring pistols. Within two years, he was given clearance to work in the field.
To date, Owen has captured nearly 50 Titans on his own, and assisted in many more captures. He prefers to live capture, but knows that when the day comes when he faces the man who killed his mother, he will afford the man no such luxury.
