It had finally stopped raining. For how long? Probably only the 10 minutes she would take in the store. God, she hated rain. Her sister was coming to stay with her a for a few days starting tonight and she wanted to have some extra food around the apartment. The grocery store was still about a block and a half away. Wren pulled down her hood and started combing her fingers through her hair. It always got so frizzy from the fabric and she wanted it to calm down before she got inside. A man on the other side of the street was sitting on the wet sidewalk holding a cardboard sign so soggy she couldn't read it from this far away. She kept walking, making sure to avoid eye contact with people passing by. She didn't want anyone recognizing her, not in this neighborhood. Wren made a habit of moving once per year and giving out fake names. Even in company of other Haven members the most they got was Ghost. That was fine with her and most of them understood. Some even followed her lead. Aliases were safer, especially with a spy around. She couldn't have anyone tracking her with her real name. She had more than just herself to protect. When her sister told her she was joining Haven, Wren had made it clear to her to never give out her real name either.
She pushed open the doors of the small-time grocery store and was blasted with cool air. It was convenient that she only lived a few blocks from this place. It was a little more expensive than she could have paid elsewhere but it was a hell of a lot closer. She nodded at the owner and quickly headed down the aisles. She had brought one of her canvas shopping bags and pulled it out of her sweater pocket. She strolled down the breakfast aisle and grabbed a box of some sugary breakfast cereal and some peaches and cream oatmeal. She already had milk at the house so she didn't have to bother lugging a jug home. She wrapped around the aisle into what appeared to be the snack aisle. A box of granola bars and some cookies would have to make do. She already had ice-cream at the apartment. She continued shopping until she had added a few cans of soup, some pasta noodles, a loaf of bread and a case of Pepsi. She stood looking at the cuts of meat and debating whether to get pork or beef. That would be their dinner tonight
Wren thought not for the first time how easy it would be to steal this food. She could just hug it close to her, turn invisible and follow someone out the door. Well, maybe not now. The owner had already seen her come in and the cameras had seen her face. But if she had wanted to she could have followed someone in. The cameras might pick up a few disappearing items but nobody would have known who it was. Of course she would never do that. She fought to protect titan rights so what good would it do her to be caught shoplifting groceries? No, it would do no good at all. Maybe if she were homeless and starving and it didn't matter who she was. But not when she had a career and enough money to buy groceries.
"You're right," she muttered to herself, "Screw pork. Let's do shake 'n bake." Wren walked further down the meats and grabbed a package of chicken drumsticks instead. Now all she had to do was get the shake 'n bake and go home.

The streets were slick, the gray sidewalk was slippery, and the people out were either soaked or lugging around clunky umbrellas. Louis eyed each one of those people with a cheeky little grin on his face, and an over exaggerated wave if any of them bothered making eye contact. The rain had been a bother for a while but it eventually slacked up before ultimately ceasing altogether. More than likely the weather would be returning to its rainy forecast, the lingering gloom of gray skies assured that much. While others were annoyed by the water falling from the sky Louis couldn't help but walk with a bit of a pep in his step, because he was the only one who seemed to be completely dry. When you were a telekinetic keeping dry in a rain storm was fairly simple, all he needed to do was create a sort of dome force around himself, keeping the droplets of water away from his body.
Now that the rain was gone he could relax his telekinetic muscle, but as usual using his power had created a pit in his stomach that needed filling. Part of him craved a nice cheesy pizza, which Chicago had the best of, but the nearest pizzeria was a little too far outside of walking distance, versus the grocery store that was just a block ahead. Gideon shoved his fists into his jacket pockets as he trotted just a bit, stepping down off of the sidewalk to make way across the street gleamed with rain water. He did so while completely ignoring the man shaking his soggy wet cardboard sign at him. Gideon knew the life of a homeless individual a little too well, but he also knew the feeling of being ignored by somehow who could obvious spare a bit of change; so he kept the cycle going by giving the beggar absolutely nothing.
Once across the street Louis approached the grocery and strode in as the doors parted on their own to allow him in. It wasn't an automatic door but from anyone else's perspective it would seem likely. His stomach growled at him demanding some sort of sustenance which caused Louis to frown slightly, just what did his stomach think they were doing in the grocery store? He had no idea what he was in the mood for, only that he wanted to eat something, but he figured he'd know it when he saw it. Aimlessly wandering down aisle to aisle Louis was not oblivious to the stares he attracted, probably because he didn't exactly look like the upstanding type, that or they were just really attractive to him - which he supposed wouldn't be fair to judge them for. He was rather good looking wasn't he? A soft smile pushed onto his face at his own thoughts. A quick hand snatched a bag of cookies from a shelf. The store was well lit but it wasn't exactly mapped out how Louis would have liked, because he was now lost on where he needed to head. The bag of cookies stashed under his arm persuaded him that they would be best enjoyed with ice cream but for the life of him Gideon could not figure out where to find ice cream.
He wandered the store trying to feel out the temperature, logically the ice cream would be in the coldest section, yes? By now his future purchase was open and he was cramming a cookie at a time into his hungry mouth. He sought out ice cream but instead he found himself diverting down a random aisle that couldn't possibly hold his desired treat. Gideon brushed crumbs from his beard meticulously as he turned to face a rack of shelves. He was face to face with spices, or something that involved meal preparation, pretending he knew what he was looking for, while out of the corner of his eye he examined a woman. She had a soft complexion, like coffee with cream, dark brown curls in her hair, and was a good bit shorter than Louis. He probably wasn't going to talk to her, he rarely went out of his way to talk to women, but for now she held his attention and probably would until she took her items to check-out.
